ROX started the month in Boston at the annual American School Counselor Association Conference. This national conference is the premier event for in-depth school-counseling-related educational sessions and attracted over 3,500 school counselors from across the country. The ASCA conference provides ROX with a platform to share the tools of our evidence-based curriculum and professional development workshops to enhance school counseling programs and educational outcomes.
In a breakout session, Dr. Lisa Hinkelman delivered her ‘Snaps, Sexts and Social Media’ presentation to a full ballroom of attendees interested in helping their female students navigate social media and develop healthy relationships. ROX also had a presence on the exhibit floor where future ROX Facilitators were able to connect directly with the ROX team for questions and information on how to bring our co-curricular program to their school buildings.
While in Boston, the ROX team was hosted at the EY and Draper Richards Kaplan (DRK) offices for gatherings with local educational and community leaders to share the work of ROX and strengthen the partnerships needed to start the very first ROX programs in Massachusetts!
